Harry V. McGahey

Harry McGahey began his legal career in San Diego back in 1979. He holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of California at San Diego (UCSD), and a J.D. from Western State University (1979). He is licensed before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1994, is a Licensed California Real Estate Broker, and holds a Professional Certificate in Hazardous Materials Management from the University of California, San Diego Extension Program. He has extensive experience in all aspects of business, intellectual property and real estate law, handling both complex litigation and transactional work.

Afsaneh (Sunny) Motaghed-McGahey

Afsaneh Motaghed-McGahey began practicing law in 1989, working in civil litigation and transactional law. She holds a B.S.B.A. (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) from Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska with a double major in marketing and management. She has also served as a part time judge Pro Tem for the San Diego Housing Authority and the San Diego Housing Commission for several years.

She is also an experienced mediator having received her initial mediation training in 1998 and since then she has been mediating a wide range of disputes in a variety of legal matters in the business law practice area. Her mediation strategy is to listen very carefully to the party's points of view and goals, then use whatever mediation skills necessary to help the parties solve their dispute. She approaches each mediation with enthusiasm and her belief that any case can be settled once any deep, unspoken obstacles to settlement are uncovered, and then dealt with in a creative and transformative way.
